In March 2015 the Home Office announced that all applicants applying for Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR) or Naturalisation must pass both the English test at Entry Level 3 / B1 CEFR Level or higher from an approved SELT examination centre AND the Life in the UK Test.
There is NO difference between ESOL Entry Level 3 and B1 CEFR. They are both equivalent level. CEFR stands for Common European Framework Reference. ESOL Entry level 3 is commonly used in the UK whereas B1 or B2 Level is used as a referencing for Europe as a whole.
There are different levels of exams. A1 Level is at beginners level and B1 level is an intermediate level. ESOL A1 level is equivalent to Entry Level 1 and B1 level is equivalent to ESOL Entry Level 3.
Yes as the examination they have sat has most likely expired due to the validity of the test of 2 years. Current Home Office guidelines state that if you are applying for Indefinite Leave to Remain then you have to pass an English test at Entry Level 3 / B1 Level and also the Life in The UK Test.

Yes. The same ESOL B1 certificate can be used for both ILR and Naturalisation (NB validation of certificate is 2 years), unless there have been a change in Home Office rules.
Yes. All certificates provided by English Test UK will be acceptable by the Home Office for the purposes of ILR, Naturalisation, student visa, spouse visa, spouse visa extension. You must be sure which type of visa you are applying for before sitting for an exam.
Yes. We can post the certificate to your address as well. We will provide you a tracking number as well. However, English Test UK does not take any responsibility of any certificates lost in the post.
Applicants applying for Indefinite Leave to Remain, Naturalisation, Spouse visa / extension are only required to sit for the “Speaking & Listening” exam only. You do not need to sit for the Reading or Writing exam.
